Everest Base Camp Trek

Kathmandu → Lukla 12 days Up to 8

About this trip

Twelve days on foot through the Khumbu, walking the long trail to Everest Base Camp with a guide who knows the route and the altitude risks well.

This is a proper trek, not a stroll — you climb steadily through Sherpa villages, past prayer flags and monasteries, into thinner air and bigger, starker landscapes as Everest and its neighbours come into view.

It's physically demanding and mentally slow-building, with acclimatisation days built in. What you get in return is a close look at Sherpa and Buddhist life in the mountains, and a few days standing where the world's highest peak stops being a photo and becomes a fact in front of you.

What you'll do

  • Trek to Everest Base Camp itself
  • Walk through Sherpa villages including the Khumbu region
  • Visit Buddhist monasteries and hear monks chanting
  • See the Khumbu Icefall up close
  • Acclimatise gradually with rest days built into the route
  • Views of Everest and surrounding Himalayan peaks
Good to know
  • Serious, physically demanding trek — expect long uphill days and high altitude
  • Guaranteed departure, so the trek runs even as a solo booking
  • Guiding is provided only for the sections stated in the inclusions
