About this trip
Twelve days on foot through the Khumbu, walking the long trail to Everest Base Camp with a guide who knows the route and the altitude risks well.
This is a proper trek, not a stroll — you climb steadily through Sherpa villages, past prayer flags and monasteries, into thinner air and bigger, starker landscapes as Everest and its neighbours come into view.
It's physically demanding and mentally slow-building, with acclimatisation days built in. What you get in return is a close look at Sherpa and Buddhist life in the mountains, and a few days standing where the world's highest peak stops being a photo and becomes a fact in front of you.
