Annapurna Base Camp Trek

Start & end in Pokhara 7 days Up to 7

About this trip

Seven days from Pokhara into the heart of the Annapurna range, ending at Base Camp itself, surrounded by peaks on nearly every side. The route climbs through terraced farmland and waterfalls before entering thick rhododendron forest and a string of Gurung and Thakali villages.

This is a proper high-altitude trek rather than a gentle walk — you're up at 4,200 metres by the end, with Annapurna I, Machhapuchhre, and Gangapurna filling the skyline. Guides lead throughout and can speak to both the terrain and the culture of the communities you pass through.

Solo travellers are covered too, as departures run on a guaranteed basis.

What you'll do

  • Trek through terraced farmland and past waterfalls on the lower trail
  • Walk through rhododendron forest, at its best in spring bloom
  • Pass through Gurung and Thakali villages along the route
  • Reach Annapurna Base Camp at 4,200 metres
  • Take in close-up views of Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Gangapurna, Fang, and Machhapuchhre
  • Start and finish by the lakes of Pokhara
Good to know
  • Seven days is a fast schedule for reaching 4,200 metres, so expect a demanding pace
  • Fully guided throughout, with departures guaranteed even for solo travellers
What travellers actually say

Worth it if you value guide quality and personalised service. Think twice if you're on a tight budget and prefer guaranteed group treks.

  • Guides consistently praised for local knowledge, problem-solving, emotional support, and genuine friendliness throughout the trek.
  • Full-board logistics handled smoothly: meals, accommodation, transport arranged without fuss from Kathmandu onwards.
  • Solo trek pricing can be significantly more expensive than group rates; Tourradar booking glitches may land you unexpectedly alone.
  • Confirm group size and exclusions directly with Swotah Travel before booking to avoid budget surprises.
