About this trip
This 8-day trek in the Annapurna region is built around one moment: sunrise from Poon Hill at 3,210 metres, with the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges laid out in front of you as the light comes up.
Between Kathmandu and Pokhara, the route is a mix of scenic drives and teahouse walking days through Gurung villages like Ghorepani and Ghandruk, past stone houses and terraced hillsides.
The walking is moderate and the altitude stays modest, so this suits first-time trekkers, families, or anyone after a short, genuine taste of the Himalayas rather than a major expedition.
