Annapurna Base Camp 6 days Trek

Start & end in Pokhara 6 days Up to 10

About this trip

This six-day trek takes you into the heart of the Annapurna range, ending at the base of Annapurna itself, with Annapurna South, Fishtail (Machapuchare), Gangapurna and other 7000m+ peaks in view for much of the route.

Starting from Pokhara, you follow trails through farmland, oak and pine forest, and rhododendron woodland, passing through villages where the local Gurung and Magar communities still live much as they have for generations.

It is a short, focused itinerary rather than a leisurely one, so expect to walk consistent distances each day to reach base camp and back within the week.

What you'll do

  • Reach Annapurna Base Camp with close-up views of Annapurna, Fishtail and Gangapurna
  • Soak in the natural hot springs at Jhinu Danda
  • Walk through rhododendron forest and farmland villages en route to Chhomrong
  • See sunrise over the snow-capped Annapurna range
  • Pass through traditional Gurung and Magar villages along the trail
Good to know
  • Six days is a fast pace for reaching Annapurna Base Camp and back, so a reasonable level of fitness is needed
  • This is a mountain trek with daily walking rather than a relaxed sightseeing trip
