About this trip
The Mardi Himal Trek takes you through the Annapurna region on trails that are quieter than the more established routes nearby, climbing from Phedi up through rhododendron and oak forest to open ridgelines with close-up views of Mardi Himal, the Annapurna massif and Machhapuchhre.
Days are spent walking through forest, past terraced rice and mustard fields, and through small settlements where you get a sense of daily life in the hills. The route sits within the Annapurna Sanctuary, so there's a good chance of spotting some of the birdlife and wildlife the area is known for.
It's a steady ascent over several days via Kokar, Low Camp and High Camp to the Upper View Point, with the reward being some of the closest mountain views you'll get on a trek in the region.
