Annapurna Base Camp Trekking

Kathmandu → Pokhara 10 days Up to 10

About this trip

This trek takes you into the Annapurna Sanctuary, a natural amphitheatre of peaks reached on foot over 10 days. You climb steadily through rhododendron forest and terraced farmland before the terrain opens into alpine meadows and glacial moraine near base camp itself.

Along the way you pass through Gurung and Magar villages, staying in teahouses and getting a real sense of how people live in this part of the Annapurna region. It's partially guided, so there's structure and support without every moment being managed for you.

The reward at the end is standing at Annapurna Base Camp itself, surrounded by peaks including Annapurna I, Machapuchare and Hiunchuli, with a soak in the Jhinu Danda hot springs to ease the legs on the way back down.

What you'll do

  • Trek to Annapurna Base Camp at the foot of Annapurna I (8,091m)
  • Pass through traditional Gurung and Magar villages
  • Walk through rhododendron forest, terraced fields and alpine meadows
  • Soak in the natural hot springs at Jhinu Danda
  • Views of Machapuchare and Hiunchuli along the route
Good to know
  • This is a multi-day mountain trek with sustained daily walking and altitude gain, so a reasonable level of fitness matters
  • Partially guided format, with teahouse accommodation along the trail
  • Runs over Christmas and New Year, so expect cold conditions at altitude
What travellers actually say

Worth it if you're fit enough for high altitude and want seamless logistics with strong guides. Think twice if you need ultra-luxury accommodation or prefer trekking solo.

  • Guide Ashok and porters genuinely invested in each trekker's comfort and safety throughout.
  • Itinerary pacing allowed proper acclimatization while hitting Annapurna Base Camp views.
  • Partially guided format balances freedom to explore with organized support and logistics.
  • High altitude trek demands solid fitness; no reviews mention struggle but it's physically demanding.
