About this trip
This is a lodge-to-lodge trek through the Annapurna region, ending at the base of Annapurna itself at 4130m. You walk through terraced rice paddies, rhododendron and bamboo forests, and high-altitude terrain, with the Annapurna range in view for much of the route.
Along the way you pass through Gurung and Magar villages, getting a look at how people live in this part of the Himalaya, and there's a stop at natural hot springs to rest your legs before the final push.
Nights are spent in trekking lodges, which are simple but come with hot showers and menus running from dal bhat to pizza.

- Views of the Annapurna range's 7,000m and 8,000m peaks throughout

- In winter (January to mid-February) Annapurna Base Camp can close due to snow
Worth it if you're reasonably fit and want stunning mountain views with genuinely helpful guides. Think twice if you need guaranteed clear weather or dislike early starts and basic lodge living.
- Guides consistently named (Aneel, Machhindra, Leyu, Sonam) went genuinely above and beyond; attentive to safety, comfort, food choices and individual needs.
- Accessible for first-time trekkers despite altitude; guides and porters actively support pacing and logistics throughout the 11 days.
- Weather is unpredictable; one group skipped Poon Hill due to clouds, monsoon brought frequent afternoon rain and poor visibility early on.
- ABC accommodation occasionally overbooked due to hotel overbooking competitor bookings, though operator made efforts to resolve.
