About this trip
This is a shorter, gentler route into the Khumbu, one that gets you close to Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and Ama Dablam without pushing you up to extreme altitude. It suits people who want the mountain scenery and Sherpa culture of the Everest region but don't have the time or inclination for a full high-altitude expedition.
You fly into Lukla and walk through rhododendron forest and Sherpa villages, spending time in Namche Bazaar before climbing to viewpoints around Syangboche for some of the best panoramic mountain views in the region. Nights are spent in teahouses along the way.
At 11 days with a maximum altitude of 3,950m, it's graded moderate rather than strenuous, making it a reasonable option if you want a genuine taste of Everest region trekking without the longer commitment of routes to Base Camp or the high passes.
