About this trip
A long overland route through Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam, moving from Bangkok up to Chiang Mai, down the Mekong and on through four countries in just over a month. It's a lot of ground covered, with cities, rivers, beaches and ancient temples all in the mix.
Expect a good amount of free time built into each stop to go off and explore, eat, or just rest, with your leader on hand for tips rather than running a packed schedule. A homestay in Cambodia and an overnight train or two along the way keep things grounded rather than polished.
This suits travellers who want breadth over depth — you'll see a huge amount, but the pace and basic accommodation mean it rewards those happy to rough it a bit for the sake of the experience.
