About this trip
Ten days running the length of Vietnam, from the pace of Ho Chi Minh City to the water-based rhythm of the Mekong Delta, on to Phu Quoc island, then up to Hanoi and Halong Bay. It's a broad sweep of the country's south, its coast, and its north, without lingering too long in any one place.
The first half is about the Mekong region — tunnels, floating markets, river towns — before you shift gear entirely on Phu Quoc, with beach time and a snorkelling option. The last stretch trades islands for Halong Bay's limestone scenery before you finish in Hanoi.
Good for a group or family wanting one trip that covers city, river, island and bay, with some structure but room to choose your own activities on Phu Quoc.

- Hanoi transport repeatedly late—Ha Long Bay pickup 70 minutes overdue, airport taxi 20 minutes late; poor communication.
- Journey to Phu Quoc takes 2 days via bus, ferry, transfers with mediocre guide; flying would suit a relaxation-focused trip better.
- Daily guide rotation means new team each day; Ho Chi Minh and Phu Quoc organised well, but Hanoi notably disappointing.
