About this trip
This ten-day route runs the length of Vietnam, from the buzz of Ho Chi Minh City to the limestone islands of Halong Bay, taking in delta boat rides, an overnight train and a highland trek along the way.
You start in Ho Chi Minh City, where colonial-era streets sit alongside a modern, fast-moving capital, before a day on the Mekong Delta's waterways among fertile gardens and village life. From there it's north to Hanoi and an overnight train up to Sapa.
In Sapa you're on foot, walking through terraced rice fields and stopping in hill tribe villages to see a different side of Vietnamese life. The trip winds down with two days cruising Halong Bay's islands and waters.
