Sapa 3 Days 2 Nights Trekking Tour From Hanoi (1 Night In Ta Van Village, 1 Night In Hotel)

Start & end in Hanoi 3 days Up to 15

About this trip

Three days in Sapa built around walking the valley trails and spending a night with a hill tribe family rather than rushing back to Hanoi on the night train. You get one night in a basic homestay in Ta Van village and one night in a Sapa hotel, with free time built in to wander the town itself.

The trekking takes you through Hoang Lien Son mountain scenery and rice terraces, passing through villages of different ethnic groups along the way. Evenings are relaxed — a chance to see Sapa's night market and streets once the walking's done.

This runs as a series of linked day tours, so you may have different guides on different days and meet different travellers joining for single activities.

What you'll do

  • Trek through the Hoang Lien Son mountains and rice terraces
  • Stay overnight in a homestay in Ta Van village
  • Cross Ta Van Bridge
  • Walk through Giang Ta Chai village and meet local ethnic communities
  • Wander Sapa town at night
Good to know
  • Homestay is basic — expect simple rooms and shared facilities
  • You may have different tour guides on different days since this combines separate day tours
  • The order of homestay and hotel nights can swap depending on group size, confirmed on the bus up
What travellers actually say

Worth it if you want authentic village immersion with excellent local guides. Think twice if you're tall, dislike sales pressure, or need crystal-clear itinerary communication.

  • Local guides (Khu, Vu, Lala) genuinely knowledgeable, flexible with weather, and deeply invested in your experience.
  • Homestay in Ta Van Village authentic and welcoming; hotel accommodation on night one consistently praised as excellent.
  • Return transport to Hanoi reportedly chaotic, cramped, and uncomfortable; European-sized passengers found seats too small.
  • Itinerary details vague pre-tour; actual schedule often differs from description, causing confusion within groups.
