About this trip

Ten days on the road from Madrid through southern Spain and into Morocco, taking in a run of cities that each have their own character, from the old-town streets of Caceres to the Moorish architecture of Seville and Cordoba.

The route continues down to the Costa del Sol before crossing by ferry into Morocco, so you get a proper change of scene and pace partway through rather than just another Spanish city.

It's set up as an easy-paced, fully guided group trip, which makes it a straightforward option if you're travelling with family or want the logistics handled for you.

What you'll do

  • Explore the historic centre of Caceres
  • Wander Seville and Cordoba's old quarters and Moorish landmarks
  • Spend time along the Costa del Sol
  • Cross by ferry from Spain into Morocco
  • Fully guided throughout, with the ferry crossing included
Good to know
  • Rated easy, so it suits a relaxed pace and mixed ages, including families
  • You change location regularly across the 10 days, moving between several cities and then into Morocco

What travellers actually say

Worth it if you value Spain's cities and can tolerate Morocco's chaos. Think twice if you need reliability, comfort, or a stomach that cooperates.

  • Spain leg with VPT guides Vanessa and Vladimir was genuinely excellent: clear directions, attentive, friendly, good hotels with comfortable beds.
  • Morocco portion was significantly worse: uncomfortable old bus, guides gave no daily briefings, lost group members multiple times, took full day shopping infomercial instead of itinerary.
  • Five of six travellers contracted stomach bugs in Morocco that persisted five days post-trip, severely limiting activities and requiring constant bathroom access.
  • Early starts and tight schedules mean minimal free time in cities; arrive at ferry ports two hours early, skip Tangier and Asilah almost entirely, rushed pace.
