About this trip
This 8-day trip covers India's classic Golden Triangle — Delhi, Agra and Jaipur — before adding on Varanasi, one of the world's oldest continuously inhabited cities and the spiritual heart of India.
You'll get the mix of history and daily life that makes this route popular: Mughal monuments, fort visits, old city streets, and then the very different atmosphere of Varanasi's ghats and river rituals.
Sightseeing is done by private vehicle with a driver, and you're based in 3-star hotels throughout, so it's a comfortable, fairly structured way to see a lot of India in a short time.
What you'll do
- Take a rickshaw ride through the old streets of Delhi
- Ride an elephant up to Amer Fort in Jaipur
- See the Taj Mahal in Agra
- Walk the ghats of Varanasi along the Ganges
- Watch the evening Ganga Aarti ceremony
- Private vehicle and driver throughout, rather than a group coach
- Accommodation is 3-star standard hotels
- Pace is quick — four cities in eight days
Worth it if you want a well-organised, spiritually rich introduction to India with genuinely helpful staff. Think twice if you need detailed mentions of pace, physical demands, or logistical specifics.
- Drivers consistently praised for being punctual, friendly, and willing to adapt plans on the fly.
- Guides deliver solid knowledge; Raman in Agra and city guides singled out for informative, engaging tours.
- Hotels consistently described as excellent; transport noted as new and clean throughout the eight days.
- Reviews lack detail on itinerary pace, early starts, or how demanding the Varanasi leg actually is physically.
