About this trip
This eight-day route takes you overland from Sofia to Athens, cutting through four countries and a good stretch of Balkan history along the way. You move through Skopje, Tirana and Prizren before the landscapes open up around Lake Ohrid and Bitola.
The trip builds to two very different high points: the cliff-top monasteries of Meteora and the Acropolis in Athens, where the tour ends with a city tour.
It's a group journey with local guides and drivers arranged through partner operators, so expect some variation in comfort and style from one country to the next.
