Kathmandu & Pokhara Tour

Start & end in Kathmandu 3 days Up to 50

About this trip

Three days covering Kathmandu and Pokhara, a lakeside valley about 200 kilometres west of the capital. Pokhara sits at just over 900 metres, yet gives you close-up views of Himalayan peaks over 8,000 metres, including the Annapurna range and the distinctive Fishtail summit, Machhapuchhre.

The pace here is easy compared to the mountains looming above it. Phewa Lake anchors the town, and the surrounding valley is home to Magar, Gurung, Brahmin, Chhetri and Thakali communities, with the Gurungs and Magars known for their history as Gurkha soldiers.

It's also where Nepal's adventure sports scene concentrates, so alongside the calm lake views there's the option to add some adrenaline.

What you'll do

  • Take in Himalayan views from Pokhara, including peaks over 8,000 metres
  • See Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) and the Annapurna range up close
  • Spend time by Phewa Lake
  • Try paragliding, ultralight flights or bungee jumping if you fancy it
  • Hike sections of the surrounding valley
  • Learn about the Magar, Gurung, Brahmin, Chhetri and Thakali communities of the region
Good to know
  • Suits those who want a short mix of relaxed valley scenery and optional adventure activities rather than a full trek
  • Itineraries in this region can change at short notice due to weather or safety conditions, so some flexibility is expected
What travellers actually say

Worth it if you want seamless logistics and a warm local guide in 3 packed days. Think twice if you prefer slower pace or dislike early starts on tight itineraries.

  • Sujan and team are genuinely warm, flexible with last-minute changes like booking flights spontaneously.
  • Mountain flight to Everest and paragliding in Pokhara are legitimate highlights crammed into three days.
  • Itinerary is packed; reviewers mention 'surviving' it and needing four days to cover everything comfortably.
  • Airport pickups and drops included; tour covers major temples, cities, and cable car without you sorting transport.
