About this trip
Fifteen days moving through Egypt's major ancient sites, from the pyramids at Giza to the temples of Luxor and the far south at Abu Simbel, with a stop in Alexandria on the Mediterranean coast.
This is a sightseeing-heavy itinerary covering twelve destinations, including a Nile cruise between Luxor and Aswan. Expect a lot of ground covered — temples, tombs, museums and citadels stacked through most days.
Fully guided throughout, so someone else handles logistics and entry while you focus on what you're looking at.
What you'll do
- Stand before the Giza Pyramids and the Egyptian Museum's collection
- Explore the ruins at Sakkara and the Memphis citadel
- Wander Khan El Khalili market in Old Cairo
- Visit Karnak and Luxor temples, plus the Valley of the Kings and Deir El Bahary
- See the Colossi of Memnon and the temples at Abu Simbel
- Take in Alexandria's Bibliotheca, Pompey's Pillar and the Kom El Shoquafa catacombs
- Fast-paced — expect multiple major sites most days
- Sightseeing-focused rather than downtime or free-roaming days
- Suits families and groups happy with a structured, fully guided schedule
Worth it if you book independently and verify everything in writing beforehand. Think twice if you value reliability, honesty about what you're getting, and not being nickeled-and-dimed.
- Operator substitutes cheaper ships and hotels without notice, then lies about which one you're booked on until arrival.
- Itineraries change mid-trip to cut costs; early flights scheduled for company savings, not tour necessity. Lunches included on paper but rarely delivered.
- Communication is poor and dishonest: pickup times shifted repeatedly, private tours become group tours halfway through without warning.
- When guides and drivers are good—Nabil, Milad, Mohamed Ali—they're genuinely exceptional and make the Egypt sites shine.
