Cairo, Alexandria, Abu Simbel, Nile Cruise & Luxor (GEM Museum Visit)

Start & end in Cairo 15 days Up to 20

About this trip

Fifteen days across Egypt, taking in Cairo, Alexandria, a Nile cruise and Luxor, with the ancient sites forming the backbone of each day. This is a fully guided trip built for people who want to see as much as possible without having to plan any of it themselves.

You'll move from the pyramids at Giza to the temples of Luxor and Abu Simbel, with stops in Alexandria for its Mediterranean history alongside the pharaonic sites further south. A Nile cruise links the Upper Egypt stretch, so you're not constantly packing and unpacking for that part of the trip.

Good for families and groups travelling together over Christmas and New Year, or anyone wanting a structured, guide-led introduction to Egypt's major historical sites rather than working it out independently.

What you'll do

  • Stand before the Giza Pyramids and the Sphinx
  • Explore Karnak and Luxor temples and the Valley of the Kings
  • Cruise the Nile between Luxor and Aswan, stopping at Edfu and Kom Ombo
  • See the Great Temple at Abu Simbel
  • Wander Old Cairo, the Citadel and Khan El Khalili bazaar
  • Visit Alexandria's Bibliotheca and the catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa
Good to know
  • Sightseeing-heavy itinerary with a lot of temples and museums back to back — better suited to those who enjoy history than a slow, unstructured pace
  • Covers both Lower Egypt (Cairo, Alexandria) and Upper Egypt (Luxor, Aswan, Abu Simbel), so there's some internal travel between regions
  • Fully guided throughout, with a custom or small-group format available
What travellers actually say

Worth it if you get a reliable guide like Dina or Tarek and things run to plan. Think twice if you're solo, need flexibility, or can't handle last-minute itinerary changes and surprise costs.

  • Hidden costs: domestic flights (Cairo-Aswan, Luxor-Cairo) advertised as included but charged separately at USD 220.
  • Itinerary changes without notice; Hurghada removed entirely, replaced with four free days in Cairo—boring dead time.
  • Poor communication from coordinators; messages ignored when problems arise; night flights to unfamiliar cities, solo travellers left stranded.
  • When guides (Dina, Tarek) are assigned, they're attentive, detail-focused, and genuinely enhance the experience significantly.
