About this trip
Three days across the highlands and cultural heartland of Sri Lanka, taking in ancient rock fortresses, sacred temples, tea country and a national park known for its elephants.
You start with Sigiriya's Lion Rock and the cave paintings of Dambulla, then move on to Kandy's Temple of the Tooth before heading up into the hills around Nuwara Eliya for tea plantations and a scenic train ride to Ella. The trip closes with a jeep safari at Udawalawe National Park.
It's a fast-moving route that covers a lot of ground, mixing culture, scenery and wildlife rather than settling into one place.
