About this trip
Eight days across Nepal's three big draws: Kathmandu's old cities, Pokhara's lake and mountain views, and Chitwan's jungle. It's a straightforward introduction to the country rather than a deep dive into any one region.
In Kathmandu you walk through the UNESCO sites - the old palace squares of Patan and Bhaktapur, the Boudhanath stupa, Pashupatinath's temples, and the hilltop shrine of Swoyambhunath. In Pokhara there's a sunrise trip up Sarangkot for views of the Annapurna range and Fishtail Peak, with time by Phewa Lake. Chitwan closes things out with a jungle safari.
The trip ends back in Kathmandu with a Nepali meal together, a decent way to round off a tour that moves through quite different landscapes in a short time.
What you'll do
- Walk the medieval palace squares of Patan and Bhaktapur
- Visit Boudhanath Stupa, Pashupatinath and Swoyambhunath in Kathmandu
- Watch sunrise over the Annapurna range from Sarangkot Hill
- Jeep safari and canoe ride in Chitwan National Park
- See Tharu cultural performances in Chitwan
- Traditional Nepali feast in Kathmandu to close the trip
- Covers three distinct regions in eight days, so it's a fast overview rather than an in-depth stay in any one place
- Wildlife sightings in Chitwan (rhino, tiger) aren't guaranteed - it's a real jungle, not a zoo
- Suits families and groups after an easy-paced, well-rounded first look at Nepal rather than serious trekking
Worth it if you value hassle-free transport and a reliable guide. Think twice if you prefer independent travel or have tight budget constraints.
- Driver and guide handle all navigation stress; particularly strong for solo female travellers seeking security.
- Consistent hotel quality across Kathmandu, Pokhara and Chitwan with good meals included throughout.
- Guide and driver genuinely personable, punctual and willing to customise itinerary based on your interests.
- Expect significant time on road; 8-day tour involves substantial daily driving between destinations.
