Short Annapurna Base Camp Trek

Six days out of Pokhara to reach Annapurna Base Camp at 4,130 metres, condensed for people who want the full mountain experience without a long expedition schedule.

You start with a drive to Kimche and a walk into Ghandruk, a Gurung village of stone houses and terraced fields with Machhapuchhre filling the skyline. From there the trail climbs through Chhomrong, Sinuwa and Bamboo, moving from rhododendron forest into the open, rocky ground of the Annapurna Sanctuary.

Base camp itself puts you among Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Gangapurna and Machhapuchhre, with sunrise over the peaks as the main reward before you descend back through Bamboo to Jhinu Danda for a soak in the hot springs on the way out.

What you'll do

• Trek to Annapurna Base Camp at 4,130m for 360-degree views of Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli and Machhapuchhre
• Pass through Ghandruk, a traditional Gurung village of stone houses and terraced fields
• Walk through rhododendron forest and waterfalls between Chhomrong and Bamboo

• Soak in the natural hot springs at Jhinu Danda
• Cross into the Annapurna Conservation Area, known for its biodiversity
