About this trip
Two days built around one thing: tracking mountain gorillas in the forests of southwestern Uganda. The trip starts and ends in Kigali, with the border crossing and travel to the park worked into the short timeframe.
Trekking takes place in either Bwindi Impenetrable Forest or Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, depending on permit allocation. It's a compact, no-frills way to do one of the region's classic wildlife experiences without building a longer trip around it.

- Cross from Kigali into Uganda's gorilla trekking region

- Which park you trek in (Bwindi or Mgahinga) depends on permit availability, not personal choice
- Gorilla trekking involves several hours of walking on uneven forest terrain, so a reasonable level of fitness helps
