About this trip
Three days is enough to get you from Kigali into southwestern Uganda and face to face with mountain gorillas, then back again. It works because Kigali sits close to the border with Bwindi, so the travel time stays short despite crossing into another country.
You will trek in either Mgahinga National Park or Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, with the exact location decided on availability. Both put you in the same forested hills that are home to some of the last mountain gorillas on earth.
What you'll do
- Cross from Kigali into southwestern Uganda by road
- Trek through dense forest with an experienced guide
- Spend time observing a mountain gorilla family in the wild
- Trek takes place at either Mgahinga or Bwindi National Park depending on permit availability
- A short, focused trip — most of your time goes on the trek itself rather than extended sightseeing
