  1. Welcome to Portugal & Private Transfer to your hotel in Porto — Porto

You arrive at Porto Airport and are privately transferred to your hotel. That's it—settle in and get some rest before the city reveals itself tomorrow.

  2. Walk Porto's historic centre from Avenida dos Aliados through São Bento Train Station and Porto Cathedral to the Fernandina Wall for views. Visit a Port wine cellar in Vila Nova de Gaia for tastings, then take a rabelo boat down the Douro River before free time at Foz do Douro by the Atlantic.

  3. Drive into the Douro Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage site, stopping at lookout points. Taste wines at a winery in Pinhão, take a 45-minute river cruise, then visit another estate like Quinta da Roeda or Quinta São Luiz before returning to Porto.

  4. Your driver-guide takes you to Porto train station for the journey to Lisbon. A private transfer meets you on arrival and delivers you to your Lisbon accommodation.

  5. Explore Lisbon with a guide, moving through its seven hills, iconic squares and historic neighbourhoods—the birthplace of fado. Visit monumental landmarks by the Tagus River and one of the city's significant museums while discovering its luminous character.

  6. Sintra: National Palace, Cascais - Afternoon Tour — Sintra

Visit the Sintra National Palace in the village centre, a former royal residence blending medieval, Gothic, Manueline and Renaissance styles until the monarchy ended in 1910. Wander Sintra's narrow streets, then pass through Cascais on the way back to Lisbon.

  7. The day is yours. Explore Lisbon's local treasures at your own pace and spend another night in the city.

  8. Breakfast at the hotel, then transfer to Lisbon Airport for your departure.

What travellers actually say

Worth it if you want curated Portuguese highlights with decent hotels and smooth logistics. Think twice if you need walkable hotel locations or full-day cultural experiences like Pena Palace.

  • Hotel locations require 20-minute walks or taxis to tour meeting points; some in residential areas far from restaurants.
  • Breakfasts charged separately despite being listed as included; staff became rude when customers questioned the extra cost.
  • Only 4 tours included in an 8-day trip; Sintra tour notably poor, Pena Palace not included despite being central attraction.
  • Douro Valley wine tasting and boat ride highly praised; daily text updates of transfers, tickets and vouchers removed planning stress.
