About this trip

Nineteen days from Tulum to Antigua, moving from Caribbean coast to Belizean islands, Guatemalan jungle and highland lakes. It's a proper overland route rather than a beach holiday, with plenty of ground to cover.

You'll swim in the lagoon at Bacalar, slow down to island time in Caye Caulker, take in Maya ruins at Tikal and end up among the volcanoes around Lake Atitlán before finishing in Antigua.

Accommodation is simple and transport is local, with a homestay along the way. There's a fair amount of free time built in, so you can shape the days around what you actually want to do.
