Taste of Spain

Start & end in Madrid 7 days Up to 50

About this trip

This coach trip runs from Madrid to Barcelona, taking in a broad slice of Spain along the way, from Castilian plains to Basque and Catalan country.

Expect a mix of cities and small villages: Don Quixote's Castilla La Mancha, paella in Valencia, wine in Aragon, and the streets of Pamplona where the bulls run each July. Stops in Alquezar, Peñíscola and Segovia bring some quieter village life into the mix before the trip ends at Barcelona's Sagrada Familia.

It's built as a group journey with families in mind, moving steadily across the country rather than settling into one place.

What you'll do

  • Explore Madrid before heading north
  • See Castilla La Mancha, the setting for Don Quixote
  • Taste authentic paella in Valencia
  • Sample local wines in Aragon
  • Walk the bull-run streets of Pamplona
  • Finish at the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona
Good to know
  • Coach-based trip covering several regions, so you change location often
  • Suits families and groups after a broad overview rather than deep time in one place
What travellers actually say

Worth it if you want a whirlwind introduction to Spain with excellent guides. Think twice if you need deep time in cities or dislike long driving days.

  • Guides consistently named as standouts—Didier, Gustavo, Luke praised for knowledge, care, and making the trip memorable.
  • Seven days means rushed city visits: San Sebastián 3.5 hours, Barcelona one day—not enough to properly explore.
  • Long driving days (12+ hours) between destinations, combined with hotels far from city centres, limits independent exploration.
  • Intense walking required but not clearly flagged upfront; accommodation quality varied from substandard to fine.
