About this trip
This is a week of cycling down Croatia's Dalmatian coast, starting in Split and finishing in Dubrovnik, with islands in between. You'll pedal past ancient sites, medieval towns and fishing villages, hopping between the mainland and islands as you go.
Days mix riding with stops at wineries, beaches and local restaurants, so it's not just about covering distance. There's time built in to explore Split and Dubrovnik's old towns on foot as well as in the saddle.
Expect a road cycling trip with a discovery bent — you're moving through history and countryside as much as chasing coastline.
What you'll do
- Explore the historic old towns of Split and Dubrovnik
- Cycle the countryside of Hvar Island
- Ride through villages and vineyards on Korcula Island
- Island-hop along the Dalmatian coast
- Stop at local wineries and beaches en route
- Refuel at traditional restaurants along the way
- Island-hopping means ferry crossings are part of the route
- Road cycling — comfort on a bike over multiple consecutive days is expected
Worth it if you're a confident cyclist who doesn't mind variable hotel quality. Think twice if you need luxury accommodation or struggle with steep climbs without an e-bike.
- Guides David and Nela are genuinely exceptional: knowledgeable, safety-focused, and build real friendships with riders.
- Hotel quality is wildly inconsistent; some are run-down or poorly located, though a few stand out as excellent.
- Climbs hit grades 7-8 regularly; e-bikes aren't optional for most riders, they're essential for tackling the terrain.
- Support van logistics are slick, luggage transfers and group meals included, but rainy-day backup activities aren't clearly planned.
