Grand Tour of Morocco

Start & end in Marrakesh 20 days Up to 15

About this trip

Twenty days across Morocco, moving from the busy souks of Marrakech through the High Atlas mountains and into the Sahara, before finishing on the calmer Atlantic coast. It's a full loop of the country rather than one region, taking in imperial cities, fortified towns and Berber villages along the way.

Expect tagines and mint tea, kasbahs and medinas, and two nights sleeping in traditional desert camps after riding out on camels. The pace shifts from the noise of the big cities to the quiet of the dunes and the laidback feel of the coast.

What you'll do

  • Wander the souks and medinas of Marrakech, Fes and Meknes
  • Ride camels into the Sahara and sleep under the stars at two desert camps
  • Cross the High Atlas mountains and visit Berber villages
  • Explore fortified kasbah towns along the way
  • Wind down on the Atlantic coast in Mirleft and Essaouira
Good to know
  • A full 20-day loop of the country, so you cover a lot of ground with regular changes of base
  • Moderate pace overall, with a mix of city days, mountain travel and downtime by the coast
  • Private rooms throughout, including at the desert camps
What travellers actually say

Worth it if you want immersive cultural depth and desert experience with a strong guide. Think twice if you're heat-sensitive or need downtime between activities.

  • Guide quality transforms the trip; Omar and Rachid made 20 days feel like travelling with friends.
  • Desert camping nights and mountain trekking are genuine highlights; itinerary is genuinely full, not filler.
  • June to August heat is intense and genuinely difficult; avoid peak summer if you're heat-averse.
  • Ramadan timing affects atmosphere and city busyness; Friday Fez is particularly rammed with tourists.
