About this trip
Nine days camping and hiking through four of the Rockies' national parks — Banff, Jasper, Yoho and Kootenay — with a local guide who handles the driving, the campsites and the gear so you can focus on walking.
Expect daily hikes among peaks, glaciers and waterfalls, with most trails offering a shorter option if you'd rather take it easy. Evenings are spent at camp, with proper meals cooked from locally sourced ingredients rather than freeze-dried packets.
It's built for small groups and works whether you're travelling solo or with someone else. Optional extras like rafting, horseback riding and mountain biking are available if you want to add more to the days.
What you'll do
- Hike among the peaks of Banff National Park
- Get close to glaciers in Jasper
- Stand under one of Canada's tallest waterfalls and walk behind another in Yoho
- Watch for wildlife in Kootenay National Park
- Swim in a glacial lake and soak in hot springs
- Optional rafting, horseback riding or mountain biking along the way
- Camping-based trip — gear and campsite bookings are handled for you, and hot showers are available
- Moderate pace with flexibility — most hikes have shorter alternatives if you don't want the full route
- Luggage is transported for you, so you're not carrying it between camps
Worth it if you want proper camping with gourmet meals and guides who genuinely adapt to conditions. Think twice if you need hand-holding with tent setup or prefer softer accommodation.
- Guides visibly skilled at improvisation: Jeremy and Laurie rerouted mid-trip to dodge Jasper fire smoke without losing quality.
- Food genuinely impressive for backcountry camping: cinnamon buns, fondue, chargrilled steak, fish tacos, blueberry pancakes mentioned repeatedly.
- You pitch and strike your own tent every night for eight consecutive days. Reviewers frame it positively but it's non-negotiable work.
- Guides accommodate fitness levels on each hike, offering alternatives so beginners and experienced hikers both feel included.
