Hiking Sequoia, Kings Canyon, & Yosemite

Las Vegas → San Francisco 8 days Up to 12

About this trip

Eight days of hiking through three of California's biggest national parks: Sequoia, Kings Canyon, and Yosemite. You're on foot most days, working through forests of giant sequoias and up to viewpoints over the high Sierra.

Yosemite is the centrepiece, with repeated chances to see Half Dome, El Capitan, and Bridalveil Fall from different angles and trails. Expect some proper elevation gain along the way, up to 2,000 ft on the tougher days.

This is a fully guided group trip built around moderate hiking, so you'll want reasonable fitness, but it's not a technical or endurance-focused itinerary.

What you'll do

  • Walk among giant sequoias in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks
  • Take in 360-degree views over the high Sierra and valley below
  • Hike trails with sightlines to Half Dome and El Capitan in Yosemite
  • See Bridalveil Fall up close
  • Climb up to 2,000 ft (609m) in elevation on the harder hiking days
Good to know
  • Moderate-rated hiking with some real elevation gain, so a base level of fitness helps
  • Fully guided throughout, in a small group
  • Camping is part of the trip style
What travellers actually say

Worth it if you're after stunning scenery and genuine group bonding. Think twice if long bus days in heat bother you.

  • Guide and company adapted itinerary smoothly when road closures hit, including catering for vegetarians.
  • Three major parks with varied hiking options lets you pick your own intensity each day.
  • Extended bus journeys between parks in heat are genuinely uncomfortable; bring water and patience.
  • Everything pre-planned means minimal logistics hassle, but you're locked into set itinerary and group pace.
