About this trip
Six days of guided hiking through Yosemite, covering giant sequoias, waterfalls and viewpoints without you having to plan the logistics yourself.
Trails run at a moderate level, up to 7 miles (11km) a day with a maximum elevation gain of 1900 ft, and your leader manages pace so the group's mixed abilities can hike together. Transport to and from trailheads and accommodation near the park entrance mean you get some comfort between the physical days.
Along the way you'll pick up some of the area's Native American heritage and pioneer history, plus a sense of the conservation work protecting the region. The trip ends in San Francisco around 3pm on day six.
What you'll do
- Hike up to Sentinel Dome for panoramic Yosemite views
- Walk the Mist Trail past its waterfalls
- Wander among giant sequoia trees
- Learn about the park's Native American heritage and pioneer past
- Hear about ongoing conservation and preservation work in the region
- Moderate difficulty — up to 7 miles (11km) roundtrip with up to 1900 ft (975 m) of elevation gain, and you should expect to be on your feet for extended periods
- Group includes hikers of varying ability, with the leader adjusting pace accordingly
- Expect warm days but cold evenings and possible rain
Worth it if you're fit, tolerate long van days, and book direct with clear logistics. Think twice if you need comfort, flexibility on hikes, or prefer inclusive pricing.
- Guide Ron was genuinely knowledgeable and prioritised group wellbeing throughout.
- Mist Trail marketed as 'walking' but extremely strenuous with no option to turn back early.
- Economy van with tiny seats, no storage, and excessive daily driving hours caused real discomfort.
- Single supplement steep at £790; logistics communicated poorly via app, requiring self-arranged contingencies.
