About this trip
This is a guided small-group walking tour across Vancouver Island, travelling from Victoria to Tofino and inland to Sooke, staying in inns and lodges rather than camping despite what the trip name suggests.
The first stretch is based in Tofino, where you can choose daily guided hikes through rainforest trails and beaches, or opt into extras like whale watching, sea kayaking or a soak in a remote hot spring. From there the route heads east to explore waterfalls, canyons and the old-growth cedars and Douglas firs of Cathedral Grove, before finishing with two days around Sooke, walking the East Sooke Trail through Juan de Fuca Park.
Groups are capped at 12 with one local guide, and the days tend to end with a group dinner and often a drink together afterwards.
