About this trip
Seven days on the road from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, taking in the coast, the mountains and the desert in between. Expect long drives, changing scenery and nights spent camping under properly dark skies.
You'll head up the Pacific Coast Highway before turning inland to Yosemite, where waterfalls and giant sequoias give way to the stark, otherworldly landscape of Death Valley. It's a trip built around contrasts, and around getting outside rather than sitting in a bus.
It ends in Las Vegas, a sharp switch from campsite mornings to neon nights, and a fitting last stop after a week of open road.
