About this trip
This trip covers seven days in the Galápagos, with five of them spent aboard the small motor boat Yolita cruising the central and southern islands. It's a mix of wildlife encounters, snorkelling, and a few pockets of human history dropped into an otherwise wild landscape.
Days are built around getting into and around the water — reefs, coves, and beaches — with birdwatching stops for those who want to add species to their list. The pace is guided and grouped, so you move as a crew from site to site rather than planning your own days.
What you'll do
- Snorkel Devil's Crown off Floreana, known for its marine life
- Birdwatch at Cerro Dragón
- Visit Post Office Bay and leave a postcard using its centuries-old tradition
- Explore central and southern Galápagos islands by boat
- Spend beach time across multiple island stops
- Five days are spent aboard the Yolita, with the rest of the seven-day trip on land
- Moderate pace with a mix of boat travel, snorkelling, and walking stops
- Suited to those keen on wildlife and birdwatching rather than a beach-only holiday
Worth it if you want knowledgeable, personable guidance and smooth logistics. Think twice if you need more than 3 nights afloat or dislike feeling rushed through itineraries.
- Guide Omar consistently praised across reviews as knowledgeable, engaging, and able to make wildlife and history come alive.
- Crew and organisation seamless from Quito airport through handovers to boat; indigenous staff employed and language barriers handled without friction.
- Final 'day' is transport only, not exploration; itinerary feels packed despite not feeling rushed, so manage expectations on active time.
- Three-night boat option limits time aboard; compare itineraries carefully as trip length and daily activities vary between options.
