About this trip

This is a full loop through Rajasthan, starting and ending in Delhi, with a guided run through the state's forts, palaces and desert towns along the way.

You'll see the Taj Mahal at sunrise, then work through Jaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer and Udaipur, taking in the forts, temples and lakes that give each city its character, with smaller stops like Mandawa, Bikaner, Chittorgarh and Dungarpur filling in the gaps.

  1. Arrival at New Delhi — New Delhi

    You'll be met at New Delhi airport and driven to your hotel. It's a straightforward arrival day—get settled, rest up, and prepare for the tour ahead.

  2. A full day exploring both New and Old Delhi. Visit Qutub Minar, Lotus Temple, Humayun's Tomb, Rashtrapati Bhavan and India Gate, then head to Old Delhi for Raj Ghat, Jama Masjid, Red Fort, and a rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk's spice and cloth markets.

  3. New Delhi - Agra (220 Kms / 3.30 Hrs) — New Delhi

    Drive to Agra (3.5 hours), stopping at Sikandra Fort en route. After checking in, explore Agra Fort's various palaces and towers, Itmad-ud-Daulah's Tomb, and Jama Masjid with your guide.

  4. Agra - Fatehpur Sikri - Jaipur (238 Kms / 5 Hrs) — Agra

    Rise early for sunrise at the Taj Mahal and Mehtab Bagh. After breakfast, drive to Jaipur (5 hours), pausing at Fatehpur Sikri—the red stone ghost town built in 1571—to see the Tomb of Salim Chisti, Buland Darwaza, Diwane e Khas and Panch Mahal.

  5. Full day in Jaipur: ride elephants or jeeps up to Amber Fort, visit City Palace, Jantar Mantar, see Jal Mahal and Hawa Mahal from afar, explore Birla Temple, then free time for shopping or rest.

  6. Short drive to Mandawa (4 hours). Spend the afternoon on a guided half-day tour visiting various haveli's and palaces around town.

  7. Mandawa - Bikaner (190 Kms / 4 Hrs) — Mandawa

    Travel to Bikaner (4 hours). In the afternoon, tour Lalgarh Palace, Junagarh Fort, and Bhandasar Jain Temple. Optionally visit Karni Mata Temple, 30km away, if time allows.

  8. Bikaner - Jaisalmer (330 Kms / 7 Hrs) — Bikaner

    Long drive to Jaisalmer (7 hours)—the city of sands. Stay in a camp and enjoy a camel ride in the dunes with traditional Rajasthani dance performances at night.

  9. Move into the city and spend a full day visiting Jaisalmer Fort, Salam Singh Ki Haweli, Patwon ki Haveli, Thar Heritage Museum, Gadisar Lake, Silk Route Art Gallery and various temples.

  10. Jaisalmer - Jodhpur (280 Kms / 5 Hrs) — Jodhpur

    Drive to Jodhpur (5 hours). Explore the massive Mehrangarh Fort, Jaswant Thada, Umaid Bhawan Palace (now a luxury hotel), Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park, Clock Tower, Mandore Temple and Gardens, and Balsamand Lake.

  11. Jodhpur - Ranakpur - Udaipur (275 Kms / 6 Hrs) — Jodhpur

    Head to Udaipur (6 hours), stopping at Ranakpur Jain Temples built in the 12th century. Optionally visit Eklingji and Nagda Temples (25km one way) near Udaipur if interested.

  12. Spend the day in Udaipur visiting City Palace, Bagore Ki Haveli, Fateh Sagar Lake, Ambrai Ghat, Jagdish Temple, the ropeway, a vintage car museum, Shilpgram, and Saheliyon ki Bari. Take a boat ride on Lake Pichola.

  13. Udaipur - Chittorgarh - Udaipur (112 Kms / 2 Hrs) — Udaipur

    Day trip to Chittorgarh Fort (2 hours away): see Rana Kumbha's Palace, Kumbha Shyam Temple, Victory Tower, Meerabai Temple, Tower of Fame, Padmini Palace and the museum, then return to Udaipur.

  14. Day trip to Dungarpur (2 hours away) to see Udai Bilas Palace, Juna Mahal, temples and old monuments decorated with frescoes and paintings, then return to Udaipur.

  15. Fly from Udaipur back to New Delhi, then onward to your home. The tour ends with a transfer to the airport.
