About this trip
This is Annapurna Base Camp compressed into six days, for those who want the Himalayas without a fortnight to spare. You start out from Pokhara and climb steadily through terraced farmland, rhododendron forest and finally the bare, high-sided bowl of the Annapurna Sanctuary itself.
It's a short window to cover a lot of ground, so expect long walking days, but the payoff is standing beneath Annapurna's south face having done it in under a week.
What you'll do
- Trek from Pokhara into the Annapurna Sanctuary
- Pass through rhododendron forest and terraced hill farmland
- Reach Annapurna Base Camp beneath the south face
- Walk through traditional Gurung and Magar villages en route
- Condensed schedule means longer, tougher trekking days than the standard ABC itinerary
- Suits fit trekkers short on time rather than those wanting a gentle pace
- Fully guided throughout
