About this trip
The Langtang Valley Trek takes you into one of Nepal's closer mountain regions, north of Kathmandu, without the crowds of the Everest or Annapurna routes. You walk through rhododendron and oak forest, climbing steadily with the Himalayas in constant view.
The route follows the valley up to Langtang village and on to Kyanjin Gompa, where you're based to explore glacier views and the wider high country. Along the way you're staying in a region shaped by Tamang culture, with the chance to see how people actually live and eat here rather than just pass through.
It suits you if you want a genuine mix of mountain scenery and cultural contact on a shorter trek, rather than a long high-altitude push.

- Trek from Syabrubesi through rhododendron and oak forest into the Langtang Valley
- Stay in Langtang village among the Tamang community
- Base yourself at Kyanjin Gompa to explore the Langtang glacier
- Walk to Langshisha Kharka for closer mountain views
- See Dorje Lapka, Langtang Lirung and Shisapangma from the trail
- Best done in spring or autumn for clearer mountain views
