About this trip
This nine-day route covers Delhi, Jaipur and Agra, the three cities that make up India's classic Golden Triangle, then extends north to Amritsar near the Pakistan border. It is built as a solid first trip to India, giving you a clear read on the country's history through its architecture rather than trying to cover everything at once.
Delhi mixes Mughal and British-era buildings, Jaipur was India's first planned city and still shows off Rajput forts, palaces and gardens, and Agra centres on the Taj Mahal on the banks of the Yamuna. The Amritsar extension adds a different atmosphere entirely, built around the city's lake, parks and Sikh heritage.
