About this trip
Ten days across Rajasthan and beyond, travelling by private air-conditioned car with an English-speaking driver-guide rather than a coach group. You move between Delhi, Agra, Jaipur and Udaipur, taking in the forts, palaces and temples that define this part of India.
Along the way there's a stop in Pushkar, a pilgrim town with hundreds of temples, and Ranakpur, known for its carved Jain temples. The route is built around the big-name sights but gives you a private vehicle rather than a shared bus, which changes the pace and feel of the days on the road.
Accommodation is in 3-star hotels with private, air-conditioned rooms throughout.
What you'll do
- See the Taj Mahal at Agra
- Explore the forts and palaces of Jaipur, Rajasthan's capital
- Take a boat ride on Lake Pichola in Udaipur
- Visit the temple town of Pushkar
- See the Jain temples at Ranakpur
- Ride a rickshaw through Old Delhi
- Partially guided — you travel by private driver-guide rather than as part of a coach group
- A city-hopping itinerary, so expect a new base most nights across the ten days
- Hotels are 3-star with private bathrooms and air conditioning
Worth it if you want seamless logistics and passionate local guides showing you Rajasthan's major sights. Think twice if you expect luxury hotels—budget options need upgrading.
- Drivers consistently excellent: Rohit, Sanjay, Mithun, Kesu all praised for safety, knowledge, English ability and restaurant recommendations.
- Itinerary hits all major sites—Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Pushkar—plus some off-beaten-track gems like temples near Udaipur.
- Hotel quality varies significantly; reviewers mention some stays were 'out of this world' but others noted planning to pay extra for better accommodation next time.
- Optional activities—rickshaw rides, cooking classes, astrology sessions—available but require requests; not all included in base itinerary.
