About this trip
This week-long loop out of Casablanca covers a lot of ground, from Morocco's imperial cities to the Sahara's edge. You start with the Hassan II mosque and Rabat before heading north to the blue-washed lanes of Chefchaouen.
From there the route swings through Roman ruins, mountain towns, and the cedar forests near Azrou, before dropping into the desert at Merzouga. The final stretch takes in the gorges and kasbahs of the south on the way back to Casablanca.
It's a fully guided group tour built around seeing as much as possible in a week, with regular stops for the scenery along the way.
What you'll do
- See the Hassan II mosque and explore Rabat
- Wander the blue streets of Chefchaouen
- Visit the Roman ruins of Volubilis and Meknes
- Get lost in the medina of Fes
- Ride into the dunes at Merzouga
- Stop at Todra Gorge, Rose Valley and Ait Ben Haddou
- Fast-paced — you cover a new region most days with a lot of driving between stops
- Suited to those who want a broad overview of Morocco rather than time to settle in one place
Worth it if you want a well-guided, comfortable overview of Morocco's key sites. Think twice if you travel solo—pricing assumes group splits, and some accommodations fall short of their promises.
- Quality guides (Ali, Ismail, Karim) genuinely engage, adjust itineraries to your pace, and celebrate milestones with real kindness.
- Sahara camp AC was missing despite being listed; Dade Gorge overnight uninspiring; solo travellers pay group-split prices unfairly.
- Seven days is dense; some feel 3–4 days Marrakesh-to-Sahara would suffice. Driver-only sites leave you without on-ground context.
- Riads consistently beautiful; desert sunrise, camel rides, and starlit dining genuinely memorable. Covers Marrakech, Fes, Chefchaouen, Dades comprehensively.
