About this trip
This 18 day trip takes you overland through three countries, starting in Porto and finishing in Madrid, with Marrakech as the pivot point roughly halfway through.
You move from Porto's riverside streets and Coimbra's old university town down through Lisbon and into Andalusia, then cross the Strait of Gibraltar into Morocco. There you spend time in Fes, Marrakech and Rabat before heading back into Spain.
The second half brings you to Granada's Alhambra, Toledo's old town and finally Madrid. It's a wide loop covering a lot of ground, built for people who want a proper cross-continent sweep rather than settling into one place.
