About this trip
Eight days across Nepal's classic triangle: Kathmandu, Chitwan and Pokhara, giving you a solid mix of history, wildlife and mountain scenery without rushing too hard between them.
Kathmandu opens the trip with its temples, palaces and squares, seven of them UNESCO-listed, before you head to Chitwan National Park for jungle walks and a real shot at spotting rhino or tiger. Pokhara closes things out on the shores of Phewa Lake, with the Annapurna range as a backdrop.
It's a group trip built around sightseeing and easy adventure rather than hard trekking, so it suits families or first-timers to Nepal as much as anyone wanting a taster of the country's range.
What you'll do
- Visit Kathmandu's UNESCO World Heritage temples and squares
- Take a jungle safari in Chitwan National Park looking for one-horned rhino and Bengal tiger
- Go on an elephant encounter and bird watching in Chitwan
- Boat on Phewa Lake in Pokhara
- Visit the World Peace Pagoda
- Optional paragliding over Pokhara
- Sightseeing-paced rather than trekking-focused, with some free time built around the main visits
- Suits families and travellers wanting a broad introduction to Nepal rather than a hardcore adventure
Worth it if you want to see three distinct sides of Nepal with solid guides and don't mind public buses between cities. Think twice if you're travelling in wet season or can't handle long, unpredictable road journeys.
- Guides are consistently knowledgeable and genuinely helpful, even adapting plans when travellers face emergencies like lost luggage.
- Public buses between cities regularly delay 6-7 hours due to landslides, especially in wet season; flight upgrades cost extra but save significant time.
- Solo travellers get different guides at each destination rather than one throughout; good organisation but not always clearly communicated upfront.
- Three cities offer genuinely different cultural experiences; 2 days in each is enough for guided tours plus free time to explore independently.
