About this trip
This six-day trip covers Nepal's two big draws: Kathmandu's temples and palace squares, then Pokhara's lakes and mountain views. It's a straightforward introduction rather than a deep dive, with a mix of history, spirituality and a bit of nature thrown in.
You start in Kathmandu, taking in centuries-old Durbar Squares and stupas, before a scenic overland drive brings you to Pokhara. There the pace slows, with lake views, a waterfall, a cave, and the option to watch sunrise over the Annapurna range from Sarangkot.
It suits people who want a taste of Nepal's culture and mountain scenery without committing to trekking, ideal if you're short on time but still want the classic Kathmandu-Pokhara combination.
What you'll do
- Explore the 12th-century palaces and courtyards of Kathmandu Durbar Square
- Visit Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple) and the Boudhanath stupa
- Drive through river valleys to Pokhara with mountain views along the way
- Take a boat out on Phewa Lake to the Tal Barahi Temple
- See Davis Waterfall and explore Mahendra Cave
- Watch sunrise over the Annapurna range from Sarangkot Hill, with paragliding optional
- Best done February to June or August to December, when skies are clearer for mountain views
- This is a sightseeing tour, not a trek — no high-altitude walking involved
- Paragliding at Sarangkot is an optional add-on rather than included in the itinerary
