About this trip
Eight days aboard a gulet sailing the Montenegrin coast, with a small group of up to 12-16 people and a crew including a private chef looking after meals. The pace is slow by design — this is about hidden coves and quiet bays rather than ticking off sights fast.
You sail south along the Adriatic, dropping anchor at beaches and coves you can only reach by boat, and stopping in at coastal towns with real history behind them, including a run through the Bay of Kotor.
Days are loose and weather-dependent — swimming, sunbathing, and time on deck between stops, with the boat itself as your changing view rather than a set itinerary of ports.
What you'll do
- Sail the Bay of Kotor, Europe's southernmost fjord
- Wander the old towns of Kotor, Perast and Budva
- Swim and snorkel in secluded bays and coves along the coast
- Anchor off beaches only reachable by boat
- Eat Mediterranean meals cooked fresh on board by the ship's chef
- Small group of up to 12-16 travellers sharing the gulet
- Relaxed pace — built around swimming stops and time at sea rather than a packed schedule
- Nearest airport is Tivat, about 10 minutes from Porto Montenegro Marina
Worth it if you want pristine Adriatic swimming, excellent food, and attentive crew in a relaxed setting. Think twice if you need air conditioning, predictable itineraries, or budget-conscious drinking.
- Captain and crew consistently praised for professionalism, humour, and excellent service across multiple trips.
- Onboard chef delivers generous, delicious meals with fresh fruit; food was a genuine highlight for most.
- Rooms lack air conditioning; several guests struggled to sleep, and cabin conditions vary significantly between boats.
- Alcohol markups substantial and not disclosed upfront; beer at 4 euros, spirits at 5 euros, far above local rates.
