About this trip
This is an 11-day route across Madagascar's east coast, starting inland at Andasibe National Park and finishing on the beaches of Sainte Marie, with the Pangalanes canal system in between.
You spend quiet nights at Ankanin'Nofy, also known as Nid des Rêves, a stretch of coastline shaped by the canal and surrounded by untouched nature. The trip winds down among primitive forests, home to rare plants and waterfalls, before reaching the Indian Ocean.
Travelling between July and September adds the chance to see whales gathering off Sainte Marie, a rare sight for anyone on the coast at that time of year.
