Lisbon to Madrid & Morocco: Small Group Journey

Lisbon → Madrid 22 days Up to 24

About this trip

Twenty-two days on the road through Portugal, Spain and Morocco, covering a lot of ground by coach and taking in three quite different cultures in one trip.

You start in Lisbon and Porto, cross into Andalusia to see its Moorish architecture, then head over to Morocco for the medinas of Marrakech and Fez. Along the way there's port wine tasting, a fado night, flamenco and a Moroccan tea ceremony.

It's a broad, sightseeing-led journey rather than a slow one — good if you want to cover three countries and come away with a real sense of each, rather than settle into just one place.

What you'll do

  • Explore Lisbon's old town and waterfront
  • Visit Porto's wine cellars for a port tasting
  • See the Moorish architecture of Andalusia
  • Wander the medinas of Marrakech and Fez
  • Take in a fado performance and a flamenco show
  • Join a traditional Moroccan tea ceremony
Good to know
  • A long, coach-based trip through three countries, so expect a fair number of travel days
  • Pace is steady rather than relaxed — there's a lot to fit into 22 days
  • Billed as suiting families as well as small groups, so it's not a party-focused trip
