About this trip
A 15-day expedition south across the Drake Passage to the Antarctic Peninsula, going further than most trips manage, with the crossing of the Antarctic Circle at 66°33'S as the goal.
Days are spent on Zodiac cruises, kayaking and shore landings, visiting historic sites, scientific bases and wildlife hotspots, with extra time built in for the peninsula compared to shorter trips. The Ocean Albatros, an ice-strengthened ship, gets you through the Lemaire Channel and the more southerly, less-visited waters.
This is genuine expedition travel: the itinerary bends to weather and ice, and getting into Zodiacs and onto uneven, snowy terrain is part of every day.
