About this trip
Two countries, one trip: fourteen days that take you from Istanbul's imperial core across Turkey's ancient heartland, then over to the Mediterranean coast of Northern Cyprus for a change of pace.
The Turkey leg is history-dense — Gallipoli's battlefields, the ruins of Troy, Ephesus, the white terraces of Pamukkale, and Cappadocia's cave country, where you sleep in a boutique cave hotel among the fairy chimneys. A short flight then shifts the mood entirely.
In Northern Cyprus you're based in a 5-star seafront hotel in Girne, with days split between exploring Nicosia, the eerie abandoned streets of Varosha, the Lala Mustafa Pasha Mosque, and the ruins at Salamis, and simply being by the sea before flying back to Istanbul.
