About this trip
This is a nine-day loop through central and southern Spain, based first in Madrid and then in Seville, mixing guided day trips with plenty of time to explore on your own.
From Madrid you head out to El Escorial, the Valley of the Fallen, and the old cities of Ávila and Segovia, then take the high-speed train south to Seville. From there, Andalusia opens up with day trips to Cádiz, Jerez, and Gibraltar.
Each day tour comes with its own guide and its own group, so you'll meet different people along the way rather than travelling with one fixed set of companions.
What you'll do
- Visit the Monastery of El Escorial and the Valley of the Fallen
- Explore the UNESCO cities of Ávila and Segovia
- Take the high-speed train from Madrid to Seville
- Day trip to the sherry town of Jerez de la Frontera
- Cross into Gibraltar, a British Overseas Territory
- Free time to wander Seville's streets and landmarks at your own pace
- Partially guided — each day trip has a different guide and group, so who you travel with changes daily
- Based in just two cities (Madrid, then Seville), with day trips out rather than constant relocation
- Good mix of structured sightseeing and unguided free time
