About this trip
A day spent learning to actually cook Vietnamese food, not just eat it. You head to a local market with a chef to pick out fresh ingredients, then get hands-on in the kitchen preparing dishes from scratch.
It's a small group, so instruction stays personal rather than a watch-and-nod demo. You'll pick up the herbs, spices and techniques behind the recipes, and leave with a recipe book to try them again at home.
Morning or afternoon sessions are available, with hotel pick-up included, so it slots into a Hanoi day without much planning.
What you'll do
- Visit a local Hanoi market to choose fresh ingredients
- Learn from experienced local chefs in a small-group class
- Prepare several traditional Vietnamese dishes from scratch
- Get introduced to Vietnamese herbs and spices
- Take home a recipe book to recreate the dishes later
- Free hotel pick-up and drop-off included
- Suits hands-on cooks rather than those who just want to sit and taste
- Morning or afternoon sessions available, so it fits around other plans
